Snippet Movie Review: Bridge to Terabithia

Welcome to Snippet Reviews!
I decided to open up a new series so I can do small, short and snappy snippet reviews.
Because I'm not very good at doing long reviews.
And one warning - I may give away spoilers.
So....without any further ado, introducing Snippet Review #1!

Title: Bridge to Terabithia
Year: 2007
Starring: Josh Hutcherson, AnnaSophia Robb
Director: Gabor Csupo
Music composed by: Aaron Zigman
Running time: 96
Rating: PG
Description:

  • The life of Jesse (Josh Hutcherson), an adolescent, changes when he befriends Leslie (AnnaSophia Robb), the class outsider. The children create an imaginary world called Terabithia, which is inhabited by all manner of magical creatures. Though difficulties fill their ordinary lives, Jesse and Leslie rule as king and queen in Terabithia. Soon one of the friends must draw on the strength of their imaginary kingdom to cope with a tragedy. (IMDb)

  • I mainly wanted to watch this because Peeta Josh Hutcherson is in it.
  • He played Jess Aarons.

  • His friend Leslie is played by AnnaSophia Robb, who I have seen in Because of Winn-Dixie and Soul Surfer.

  • The two of them acted very well.

  • Jess is a boy who has no friends and feels lonely even in his own home. Leslie is a bright, cheerful girl who really lights up every place she goes.

  • The movie was sweet and interesting and sad. Very sad. I cried.
  • The kids have some interesting concepts of the Christian faith, which come through occasionally.

  • But overall, I liked it. It was very sweet.

  • But I don't want to give away too much.

  • (Lots of Peeta expressions.)
